FAQ

You’ve got a question? We’ve got the answer

If you can’t find the answer to your question please contact us.

Placing an Order

The first step is putting together a brief. A brief tells us what you’re looking for in your medal or award – this can include shape, size, colour, material, any existing branding or logos, details about the event, and any personalisation required. Please use our ‘Get a Quote’ page to submit your information. For help creating a brief, please get in touch and we can supply a template.

Please browse through our gallery pages to seek inspiration from our previous work. For information about budgeting, lead times, artwork and additional services, you’re in the right place. Our FAQ can give you an overview of the design and manufacturing process.

Once a design is finalised, and deposit paid, the lead time for your bespoke trophy or award is typically 3-4 weeks, and for medals it is typically 6-8 weeks

Depending on the manufacturing methods involved in bringing your design to life, we may require a longer lead time. We will make you aware of this at the enquiry and design stage.

In some instances, even with a short lead time, we may be able to assist in time for your event. Give us a call or complete the enquiry form online and a member of the team will be in touch as soon as possible.

Winners’ details are required a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the delivery date unless otherwise specified.

Once an outline design is finalised, we will send you an invoice for 25% of the quoted price, as a deposit. Your order is confirmed once the deposit has been received, and we will begin manufacture at this point. A deposit is non-refundable once paid.

Design

Where possible, logos and artwork should be vectors (.svg, .ai, .eps). This will ensure that your logos are engraved in the best quality possible, and it allows our design team to alter and manipulate it.

All logos will have originally been created in a vector drawing package. A vector is a combination of lines, shapes, text and colours and can be assembled and disassembled, stretched, enlarged and shrunk without any loss of quality. This gives us much more freedom in the design process, and ensures that the final product is of the highest quality. If we only have a picture to work from (jpeg, tiff, bmp, png, psd etc) then the final product will suffer from the same pixilation that you see on screen. A vector logo will normally be available from your marketing or design department. We do have the ability to ‘vectorise’ logos sent in raster (.jpg, .png) format, but there will be a small cost associated with this facility.

We send out artwork during the design phase to give you the best possible idea of what your finished award will look like. Before manufacture we ask for your agreement to proceed before any engraving begins.

It is possible to produce a physical proof of the item, but there will be a cost associated with this.

We recommend using wetransfer.comIt’s free, easy to use, and doesn’t require registration. Please ensure you use the recipient address matt@tiliacraft.co.uk.

Pricing

Because all of our items are designed personally for our clients, each award is different, so therefore it is difficult for us to put prices on the website or give out prices over the phone. We do offer a free quote service so that you can see exactly what you will be getting for your money. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please use our enquiry form, providing as much information regarding your requirements as possible.

Providing an accurate budget helps us give you the best possible design and quote. A budget allows us to tailor your design in every way. From the materials to the manufacturing processes, we strive to create spectacular bespoke awards and medals suitable for every brief, every event, and every budget.

We include all engraving charges in our quotes, even if each award is personalised. At Tilia Craft we don’t believe in stinging you with extra charges, what you see is what you get.

We are always upfront with our charges, and include these in the initial quote. Where we are asked to undertake design work, there is a charge. We aim to keep this as low as possible, and we charge an hourly rate. Design and set up costs can be minimised by providing a detailed design brief, and supplying all logos and other associated visual branding in vector formats.

Returning customers are not charged if there is only a minor variation to a previous design, and we do not charge an additional fee for personalisation.

Delivery

Absolutely! Tilia Craft is located a few miles from M4 J16, between Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade. You can collect directly from our premises, or sometimes it may be possible for us to drop off your items at a mutually convenient location, free of charge.

By default we use Royal Mail Tracked 48 service, although we’d be quite happy to use a faster service if you require, or an alternative courier of your choosing. We aim to ship all orders at least 5 days prior to your event date, though if you need it sooner then please advise prior to order confirmation. Shipping is charged at cost price and added to your final invoice.
